From the left seat I can see that you were right

11 Nov

I reside in heavens

when we fly it’s very clear

the bigger organism we

are apart of/from up

here/now vision clouded

with/by ether, our lives below

the bible thumping belt, so rare

did you think I wasn’t looking when you quietly ordered

yourself back into submission from the menu

or was that for those to whom you say life is good like comfort food for breakfast

on saturday just before noon in our pajamas with the radio playing/the smell of grease

and gasoline in your hair, citrus on the wind

real maple syrup and bacon/your favorite

race on television. We did things

on that leather couch that would embarrass the children if they existed

we spooned entire days into a bowling ball bag

you won/lost, as if we had nothing

more important to do than touch each other until we did

or maybe we only manufactured that/you

came down from your mountain-top to pull me up

and I was so grateful I gave you things

to desire instead

of me/but when I called down to you from mine

you couldn’t hear me any more

than when I used to tell you

I had a dream

in the night/you reached

out for me from your

fear of light/sleepers

women pilots

weak people

distrust

and we would fly

blindly, madly

in love with passenger seats, advanced

stall warning recovery

whether predictions

down-shifting, flights planned

restricted/visual ceiling fan rules

taking precedence under the covers

your feet my pedals

clutching, crabbing

our forte

negative g-forced

free fall

Cuánto

10 Oct

How much can I miss you
Cuánto te extraño

no matter how the day goes
aunque no el dia se pase

I long for you each evening
te deseo cada noches

and every morning when I awake
y despierto todas las mañanas

my heart is full of you once more
reponer mi corazón con su fe

vista al lago

How deep is the night

Chapter 3 – Yes

26 Sep

We have kissed

Connected, killed

Affectionately

Dowsed and drown

Suspicion

A scorpion underfoot

Chapter 3 – Yes, I Hunger

13 Sep

A glutton; I feast on

“Meating” of Rebel Lions

Or chewing on rose petals

Of red, of love

I read

One Hundred Years of Solitude

I write

Only to eat each word by word

I gulp my mocha espresso

And sip my wine by the bottle

A glassful of conversation

Is my craving

A desireful companion

I would cherish

A being-filled co-existence

Complete this wanting wish list

My soul is full and yet

I am, and I hunger

Chapter 2 – In a Foreign Land

29 Aug

I dance with strangers

Eating twinkies

Fondling my candy

Secret numbers

Play rotary with my brain

We are both strong

Yet time has its power

To wither away the largest stone

With the wind and the rain

I came, leaving the past behind

You erupted, a volcano in mine

My hands cold glass

Tears have long since frozen

Become a wooden woman child

Even before I knew the fire of love

I never felt your hot hand in desire

A flame cannot ignite an entire forest

Each tree has its own price to pay

Why did you tell me that you love me

Did you not want me to be free

Why did you tell me that you want me

When you plan to burn the forest

For the trees

Chapter 2 – I Touch You

10 Aug

Air is cold against my head

Like a damp cloth

Or your sweat

Drip, drip, dripping

Upon my boiling skin

So hot

I breathe

My nose, my throat

Dry and burning

With curiosity

Longing for the wetness of your touch

Your kisses

Soothing my lips

Cracked and bleeding

Your mouth

Holding my warm breath

The smell of your day

Upon me

Mingling with a top note

Of passion

And the aftertaste of

Desire

I can’t get you deep enough inside me

Your tongue, your teeth

I want to chew your flesh

And swallow you whole

Eat me up

And down

More

There

And here

Look

You found someone

Who wants you

Just as much as

You want to be wanted

Chapter 2 – Folklore

4 Aug

Playing grown up games

Secretly

Without a conscience

Or a direction

To run

As destruction comes

Defiance

Persists

Resist shock waves

Of pain

To spill light again

Through the blackened eyes

And strain

Of simply being.

I have seen this vision before

Folklore

Dancing elves

And me

Singing gloomy tunes

Below them.
