Chapter 2 – Last Curtain Call

6 Sep

Opening fleshy curtains

To expose

To let the light seep through

Tasting familiar colors

Rusted metal blades

Tear stained pillows

No soap can wash away

Sleep beside my love

I fear for my sanity

Purple rushes of you

Encase me in vampire’s coffin

Keep me safe from cruel light

My skin is no curtain

And my blood far from sunshine

Forgive me for these sad metaphors

Take me home

Away! Away!

The velvet curtain of the stage is falling

This is the end of a tragic play

Chapter 2 – A Deadication

6 Sep

My heart doesn’t bleed

For if it did

I would be mercifully released from this world

My hands are the bloody ones

Digging, scraping

At the very door to my chamber of firearms

They are rap, rap, rapping and scratching

Pitifully, to no avail

Entry is refused

Where is the key?

By my hand

This door will fall

I will deny the heart its ache

To acquire the jewels of the soul

Chapter 2 – I Used To

2 Sep

I used to verse

On ocean waves

That never burned

Or blew

Bitter mist into my face

Snow that rarely

Blanketed the earth

Or gave me

Flakes to taste

Voices speaking

Foreign  words

For me to decipher

Or laughter

In which I found pain

Crucifixes

Painted on crevices

Into skin

With pins

Blood – I used

To leave my

Sinister conclusions behind

Or far from me

In this light

I have seen the future

Witnessed past

Now to make

These perfect memories last

Chapter 2 – Me in Mud

2 Sep

Planting the seeds

Roosting for hours

January showers

Limited numbers

Sunburned curls

Locked away from dark man’s touch

Excited, entranced

By distant voices

Choices must be made

Tomorrow begins the day

Which ends my journey

To the Finn lands

From desert heat

And the burning hearts

Of the ones I love

Chapter 2 – To Ninni, My Big Sister

2 Sep

I will not verse on your beauty

For surely it has, and will inspire

Many a poet to match in metaphor

That which the artist’s eye does seek

I shall not write about your generosity

Though it has been plentiful

And gratefully received

You’ve given freely without reserve

While I am able

To give you only these

Simple words, spoken softly

Attempting to appease

The bestial sea

Between us

Perhaps one day

Salt water will carry you back to me

Chapter 2 – Smell

31 Aug

Smell my hands

Inhale my growing fingers

Grasping your strong arm

Pale with the strain

Veins

Exploding

You are calling my name

In her bed

By her side

And she is grasping your arm

In the dream

You could smell me

And now

The musky scent only lovers live to make

And love

My fingers linger in memory

Empty thoughts are filled

For you

With the words I write

And when the wind is right

The smell

The sweet stinging smell of the fingers

Creating these lines

Chapter 2 – (Dreams…)

31 Aug

Coming for you

Lining you up

In organized patterns

Rubber bands keep your arms

Tight against your body

Spinning you are

Fast as your feet can turn

Russian women dance

She flies

Tick? Tick?

As free as the bird

Who leads the flock

Friendly revolution

Hold back no reserves

Encircled she prays

As a dying man

In his last days

Return to harsh embrace

Stretching, pulling

A carnival?

There are no children laughing here

A punishment?

Didn’t seem cruel or unjust to me
