Chapter 3 – Clap

14 Sep

The roses grew impatiently

Folding their limbs to passers by

Lifting lids for light alone

Revealing sweet tornado eyes

Catching my secret glances

Sparks fly.

Precious core of you

Apple seeds

Man with one-thousand tattoos

An opera singer dreams

While the rock star screams

They are lovers

Sleeping not so silently together

Bodies four-legged and entwined

Flip/flop

Not kind

My hair is on fire

While my face cracks with the cold

Snap!

Play that harmonica

Patty cake game

Clap!

Chapter 2 – Sweet Artillery

7 Sep

She looks like a cactus

Hard and harmful

She feels like a teddy bear

Soft and plentiful

Her glance will cut you in half

While her lips sew you back

She walks and she runs

From danger

She is no foolish lover

No stranger

Her distance will disarm you

Her wit will hand you guns

No harm shall come

To the man who is given

And carries

Her weapons

For she does not give of them freely

As she does her tired heart

From the man she promises her protection

This girl shall never part

Chapter 2 – Smell

31 Aug

Smell my hands

Inhale my growing fingers

Grasping your strong arm

Pale with the strain

Veins

Exploding

You are calling my name

In her bed

By her side

And she is grasping your arm

In the dream

You could smell me

And now

The musky scent only lovers live to make

And love

My fingers linger in memory

Empty thoughts are filled

For you

With the words I write

And when the wind is right

The smell

The sweet stinging smell of the fingers

Creating these lines

Chapter 2 – It is Done

8 Aug

Irish dancing tunes

Surround my bed,

My house, my head

We are all laughing

As the skin peels

From my face and neck

Lovers are bitter

Above me

A young man lies

Below me

Kittens sleep

Beside me

My eyes are heavy

With sleepy thoughts

My hands are yet weak

From the strain of today

In the darkness

A single demon dances

Leading me

To an open door

Number three

Still more

Number four

Number one

It is done

Chapter 2 – Seven Dreams of Death

8 Aug

Ceiling drips blood-stained secrets

Upon me

Fury rages like crematory fire

Bullet through skull

Piercing delicate brain

Pain without death

She had a bad aim

Played a worse game

Hurry! Shoot again

Before conscience comes

Before horrid shock dulls.

It was a dirty trick

Letting me live

Never knowing when she would

Pull that trigger and

Bring on the end.

Visiting my lover

Happy times I found

So close to the ground

Of my grave

I told her to shoot

Suddenly realizing he

Would never see me alive

After all this time

Rush of regret

No, don’t!

My words were slow

Like a movie of a person

With a piece of metal lodged

In her skull

Too late?

I’m gasping for dry air

Bubbles burst

The hole in my head

Bleeds red

Hair color, matted, stringy

Funny feelings

Living now

Is just not for me

Everything that happens

Simply has to be.
