From the left seat I can see that you were right

11 Nov

I reside in heavens

when we fly it’s very clear

the bigger organism we

are apart of/from up

here/now vision clouded

with/by ether, our lives below

the bible thumping belt, so rare

did you think I wasn’t looking when you quietly ordered

yourself back into submission from the menu

or was that for those to whom you say life is good like comfort food for breakfast

on saturday just before noon in our pajamas with the radio playing/the smell of grease

and gasoline in your hair, citrus on the wind

real maple syrup and bacon/your favorite

race on television. We did things

on that leather couch that would embarrass the children if they existed

we spooned entire days into a bowling ball bag

you won/lost, as if we had nothing

more important to do than touch each other until we did

or maybe we only manufactured that/you

came down from your mountain-top to pull me up

and I was so grateful I gave you things

to desire instead

of me/but when I called down to you from mine

you couldn’t hear me any more

than when I used to tell you

I had a dream

in the night/you reached

out for me from your

fear of light/sleepers

women pilots

weak people

distrust

and we would fly

blindly, madly

in love with passenger seats, advanced

stall warning recovery

whether predictions

down-shifting, flights planned

restricted/visual ceiling fan rules

taking precedence under the covers

your feet my pedals

clutching, crabbing

our forte

negative g-forced

free fall

Cuánto

10 Oct

How much can I miss you
Cuánto te extraño

no matter how the day goes
aunque no el dia se pase

I long for you each evening
te deseo cada noches

and every morning when I awake
y despierto todas las mañanas

my heart is full of you once more
reponer mi corazón con su fe

vista al lago

How deep is the night

Mi amor

Entonar en harmonia

No hay sonidos

Pero una mirada

Un roze

Y yo se

Afinidad

Divinidad

Soy atraida

Hacia ti

Hacia nosotros

Tu cara tocando mi cara

Tus ojos me dan

Mi alma te recibe

My love

In harmony

There is no sound

But a look

A touch

And I know

Affinity

Divinity

I’m drawn to it

To you

To us

Your face touches my face

Your eyes give to me

My soul receives you

Call for Help

4 Oct

You just barged in

On my glass-faced

50’ bamboo shoot

With permission from

Your uncle, the baker

Closed down up top

Schools out

Foods on, the table

Turned legs up

For liberty

You sat in on my sit in

Trampled my tiles

With your horse feet

Cut up besides

Boracho barbers

I can hear the chewing

In my sleep

Mother What Have You Done?

1 Oct

You crouched behind a rock

Holding the first one

An egg cradled

In your armor

Your amour

The second one was stronger

More like you

Independent, instinctually intelligent

You placed

The third one in his arms when

You thought

It died

For you

Mother, why

Set me to float away

On this dream of love

I’m still alive

It says downstream

With the voice of a man

Exactly

But he doesn’t want to leave

Just yet

No one really does

Chapter 3 – The Sweetest Satire

26 Sep

Flora

The fawn of devilish childish

Absolut-shunn(ed)

I’ll not return to this

Demolition

Alas, I am at the mercy

Of my own hand

Having removed myself from the game

Ignoble in my cause

Now facing defeat, I give in

Conspicuous shudders of revolt

They’ll not shut me down

Not to sufferance nor shame

They’ll never make me sleep

I shall sever such sadism with

The sweetest satire

Chapter 3 – To Christian

21 Sep

When did your spirit die

And leave your body to fend for itself

You knew that it would take

Neither the rush, nor the fall

From grace

It is true

You were slipping

Into some new dementia

Searching for an absolute on earth

Would not do

Now what I would not do

Is follow or weep

For you have left behind

Nothing but grief

Will you wander for eternity?

Never satisfied

Although you’ve paid the highest price

Chapter 3 – Superfluous Superman

15 Sep

We need you

In these violent times

It seems there is no crime

We won’t do

All the pushers in their prison cells

Are doing business on the phone

Mail order clerks get busy with the works

And mother is crying herself to sleep at home

Out tee-vees show us real life scenes

Of death at dinner time

Slop in the trough for cops and

Robbers for dessert

How fine

Come quickly

For summer season comes early

To our city and the best prime

Time slots go almost as fast

As the redhead on the corner

Chapter 3 – Defeat

14 Sep

I’ve got a broken heart

The size of the moon

Never want to go back there

Not anytime soon

I am a child

In a grown-up game

Nobody ever told me the rules

Or taught me how to play

What’s so fair about love and war

Easier to die lonely

Than to ever know

You were once loved

What a shame

To die old and gray

Unaware of the pleasures

Never knowing this man with only a name

No face to place my adoration

Time was sixteen stones in our path

I was born

To hide away

Keeping the faith

To keep the beat

Of what is ours

Alive

Please tell me that my efforts will

Not end in defeat

Chapter 3 – Where are You?

13 Sep

Summertime friend

It has been a cold winter

Without your hands

Holding mine

Walking the streets to

Pass away time

Do you play golf?

Or would you rather

Strip yourself clean

To run around

On the green

Let’s order some pizza

Read our poetry

Listen to the crickets sing

Then chase them

Round n’ round

‘til we fall on the ground

And the sprinklers come on

And so do we

Let’s drive away

To some desolate place

Watching meteor showers

Drinking wine

I would be your dreamer

If you would be mine
